Overview

About the book This book was born from the inspiring examples of individuals with excellent success stories without university degrees. It carefully observes and presents the principles behind success against the barriers college certificates cast in their paths. It addresses students' frustrations and provides insightful guidelines on balancing a career with vocational training for a successful life. It is a must-read. Encountering obstacles as an individual can be limiting but it becomes a necessity to document when it is obvious the experience over the years is not an individual problem. More so it was inspiring to discover most individuals were not as lucky with the same problems. To have survived certain situations as it relates to education, it is only advisable to document these incidents and also mention the way it was possible to get past the same challenge in order to help individuals who want solutions to the same problems. It is burdensome to see potential not harnessed and untapped as a result of limiting beliefs and living to impress people. In most cases, families and individuals one holds so dearly at the detriment of one's fulfillment. The aforementioned challenges will only make individuals unproductive with coping mechanisms that lead to destruction and more problems in the future. About the Author Imorataria Dogood Akpufu is a Lecturer at the Department of Port Management, Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, Delta State, Nigeria. She holds two HNCs in Natural Sciences from the UK and India; and a BSc in Maritime Business & Management (UK). She also holds a Master's degree in Port Management (Sweden) with a PhD in view along with at least eight training and professional certificates from India and Singapore coupled with many awards and memberships. She firmly believes in originality and purpose. Taria, as the author is fondly called, is a service and solution-driven individual with her fair share of burnout from trying to fit into a box. The expectations of people basically were the standard she would live to. Just like plant do not want soil but needs it, the same became her frustration, and the only way out of these situations knowing how insatiable human beings can be, she needed something far bigger than what she has experienced so far. Along this journey of self-realization are lessons learned, that shed more light, on the consequences and the necessity of making this journey far better and more interesting for other upcoming individuals that will yield greater results both in academics and in their personal life spaces.
