Reviews

Earthdivers #1 has drama, grueling tension, and a penchant for violence in a tightly written narrative. -CBR ...a more than rollicking time-travel adventure. A piercingly resonant examination of the American project. -Scott Snyder, author of Dark Spaces: Wildfire, Batman, Justice League Earthdivers is why I read comics-a timely concept told boldly; a strong debut by Stephen Graham Jones who proves a voice to watch with something to say; and career work by Davide Gianfelice, a veteran artist who was already light years ahead of his peers. -Pornsak Pichetshote, author of The Good Asian A time-twisting trip you don't want to miss! Myths, mayhem and history-altering murders ahoy! -Cavan Scott, author of Dead Seas Davide Gianfelice does a fantastic job of bringing the story to life, particularly the aforementioned sequences in 15th century Spain. The design elements are both immaculate and authentic, and the measured linework and expressive characters really helps to give the story a real sense of energy. -BCP Earthdivers feels fresh, compelling, and bold...It's a comic that stands head and shoulders apart from the rest of the pack on the shelves. Don't wait for the trade - this is an urgent comic that begs to be read. -Comic Watch Gianfelice's layouts are quite beautiful, at turns sweeping and majestic then narrowly focused and intimate. Curving and angular lines combine to create figures, animated with deft gestural qualities...[Lafuente's] range from light to dark, conveying depth and expansiveness, and creating atmosphere and mood, is masterful. -Gay League Stephen Graham Jones enters the comics scene with a dense but fascinating and well-paced comic with a tasty dash of political commentary, as every great science fiction story should have. The visuals from Davide Gianfelice and Joana Lafuente are well-directed and stunningly detailed, making for a wholly immersive reading experience. -Monkeys Fighting Robots
