Reviews

"Proceeding through the alphabet from Atmosphere to Zero Emissions, this subject-focused alphabet book is eco-friendly for children. Readers will enjoy getting a sense of a variety of ways they can help protect our environment and help our communities, as well as why this work is essential. Winslow defines the many important and challenging vocabulary words in a way that younger readers can understand with the help of a caring adult. The author also provides examples of activists like Greta Thunberg and Emmanuela Shinta. While their importance is not explained in the book, their mention provides an awareness of their names, and readers can ask for more information. Includes lovely illustrations featuring diversity in images of children and community members. This book could easily be propped on a shelf to display, as it is printed on sturdy, board book-style pages. However, it does feel as though it could be torn apart easily by rough readers. This is a wonderful gift for an aspiring environmentalist or a great addition to any preschool library. It is also a solid resource for starting conversations about environmental action in an easy and fun way.--Children's Literature ""Children's Literature"" (9/26/2023 12:00:00 AM)"
