Dr. Vera L. Nobles has taught and served as a literacy coach in the public school system for over twenty-five years and is a former adjunct professor of Africana Studies at Berkeley City College, Berkeley, California. She is the author of ""Nubia and Egypt: Is it Ella or is it a Copy? ( 1995); ""Maroon Societies"" (2005),and ""Ebonics: The Retention of African Tongues""(2015) and the co-author of,"" ""The Whitening of a Black King Tut"" (2008), ""Credo Mutwa"" (2009) and ""Zarma"" (2009). Dr. Vera Nobles was initiated into the Ifa spiritual system in 2002. Her spirit name is Winmilawe . Credo Mutwa, the High Sanusi of South Africa named her Nokwanda.Along with her husband, BABA DR. WADE NOBLES, they have five children (Michael Chikuya, Omar Jahmal, Zetha Awura, Ayanna Yasmeen and Halima Bisa) and thirteen grand children (Talia, Mikal, Kristofer, Donovan, Johnathan, Deborah, Maasai, Afolarin, Moremi, Folasade, Yasmeen, Oni Chinyere and Zane Nicholas) .
