Overview

Renegade photographer Philip Volkers travels the world with his camera, achieving total immersion in both modern and ancient festivals. His passion is the documentation of spiritual, hedonistic gatherings, and exploring the meaning behind them with his work. Dust to Dawn documents the visual adventures of Volkers at Nevada's notorious festival, Burning Man. Every year 75,000 people descend on a blisteringly hot alkaline lake bed in Nevada, to let loose and make art.

Philip Volkers was born in 1980 and grew up in the Wiltshire countryside. His aim is to produce imagery that is stand-alone in its impact. Philip is a Visonary photographer for Olympus. His work includes reportage, portraits and extreme sports and he exhibits across the board in galleries worldwide. His clients include: Apple, The BBC, Clarence House, De Beers, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, The Independent, Lisson Gallery, Mercury Records, L'Officiel, Olympus, Pebble, Quintessentially, Universal Records and Vogue UK.
