Author Information

Caitlynne has harbored a lifelong love of books and animals. She was born and raised in Georgia and is an Appalachian State Alumni. She transplanted to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2015 and started her book writing journey with River the Three-Legged Dog in 2019. Her second book, Milo the Brave was published in 2021. She plans to continue writing picture books in her hopes of sharing meaningful, uplifting, inspiring, and often goofy messages to children (and adults) all over the world. She lives in Raleigh with her husband Cameron and their three dogs, River, Rory, and Milo. Marian is a traditional illustrator who employs classic techniques such as watercolor and ink to achieve the immediacy and spontaneity of the medium to create imaginary, dreamlike scenarios where realism and fantasy coexist, depicting the spirit-world of childhood. Her style is influenced by classic children's book illustrations, mostly by The Golden Age of Illustration, Randolph Caldecott, Beatrix Potter, and Sir John Tennel.
