This is a must-read for Cincinnati baseball fans. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and found a great deal of new information. Jim Johnson has done a skillful job of blending his account of Vandy's epic back-to-back no-hitters with hundreds of fascinating details about the players and the game in the 1930s. James W. Johnson, professor emeritus of journalism at the University of Arizona, is the author of several books including The Dandy Dons and The Wow Boys, both available in Bison Books editions.
