Reviews

"""A penetrating portrait of a technical whiz, a narcissist lacking an inner self who is tantalized by the array of philosophical and theological ideas to which he is exposed in chance encounters. This volume, reaching beyond itself, raises profound questions about the modern world, and proposes the need for salvation."" --Margaret L. King, professor emerita of history, Graduate Center of City University of New York ""Linden DeBie's story of a man whose desire to resist his own aging puts him in a downward spiral is reminiscent of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray but without the supernaturalism and with an added interwoven discussion of modern philosophy and a hopeful ending--a very stimulating read."" --John W. Coakley, professor emeritus of church history, New Brunswick Theological Seminary ""Linden DeBie has created a character in Dorian Fist that has haunted me ever since I read the book. As a reader who has moved beyond middle age to the next phase of life, Dorian's desire for youth was palpable to me personally. He is an icon of a society obsessed with youth and beauty. He is us. And the consequences of his obsession are heartbreaking. Dorian succeeds in being philosophically brilliant while at the same time being a real page turner and a tear-jerker. I loved it!"" --Scot Sherman, executive director, The Center for Church Innovation"
