OverviewOn the vast plains of the western United States there was a time of violence lacking any type of formal law. Violence begot violence as men built their fortunes and towns working to keep what they'd won while trying to take from others. Newspapers in these fledgling towns reported almost daily on violent events. The worst of these were widely reported, although there were no witnesses, only the death and destruction left behind.
