Overview

Do you truly love this country? Would you be willing to put your life on the line for others? Always putting others before himself, Ed Mitchell left his home and job to answer the call of duty, to serve his country in the United States Military. During his journey home on the train, it was obvious that Ed had contracted a deadly form of influenza during his service. After his partial recovery, he marries his sweetheart, Mary Collins. Although his time in the war is over, Ed sees that his duty is far from complete. Set during the time of segregation, Ed helps a small town battle with hatred and division all the while fighting his own battle for health. Readers will be remindedd of the true meaning of patriotism, and that this truly is God's country.
