Author Information

Max Treiber, born in 1988, works as an architect in Munich and researches at the Chair of Architectural Design and Conception, Technische Universität München. He studied architecture in Münster and Berlin and has worked in several architecture offices in Tokyo, Zurich, and Berlin. In his ongoing doctoral thesis »Architectural Montages - Scenarios of Everyday Spaces« he investigates the connection between space and image using the example of a body of work by the Italian photographer Luigi Ghirri. Sandra Meireis (Dr.-Ing. M.A.) teaches architectural history and theory. She holds the interim professorship for architecture and design history/architecture theory at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. Her research and publishing interests lie at the intersection of architectural studies, philosophy of history, social and political science, and aesthetics. Julian Franke, born in 1991, works as an architect and research assistant at the Competence Center for Typology & Planning at the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture. He studied architecture in Münster and Berlin as well as philosophy in Berlin and Cork. Beside developing innovative housing concepts, he deals with topics at the interface between philosophy of architecture, building culture, anthropology, image theory, and aesthetics. Since 2022 he has been a PhD candidate in architecture theory at the Technische Universität Berlin.
