The inspiring text about the epic discovery of the cave Claudio Skilan in Italy is written by Clara Ferlatti, writer, poem and caver from Trieste. The photos and text about a two years photographing in the cave is made by Bogdan Kladnik, author of 59 books from Slovenia.Discovered in 1991 by the Carlo Debeljak Group, the Claudio Skilan cave has become, after several years of explorations, the largest subterranean system in the karst of Trieste, with an uninterrupted sequence of galleries and vertical shafts exceeding 6 km in length and reaching a maximum depth of 378 m. The cave is renowned not only for its huge dimensions, but also for the presence of unique calcite formations.

Clara Ferlatti Clara is a (retired) journalist, writer, poet, photographer, singer, caver and lover of Nature from Trieste, Italy. She joined the caving group Carlo Debeljak in the very early years of its foundation, bringing with her the passionate instinct for discovery, observation and study of Nature. For many years she shared the difficulties and the pleasure of exploring the wonders of the subterranean karst with her husband, Claudio Skilan, whose memory this book celebrates.Bogdan Kladnik is an experienced photographer, writer, designer, publisher, film-maker, extreme sportsman and founder of Guardians of Universe. He published his photographs and articles in Stern, Bell'Europa, Tuttoturismo, Adria, Proteus, Gea, Berge, Merian, National Geographic Junior and National Geographic Adventure magazines. He is the author of two sons, more than 120 calendars, several multimedia productions and photographic exhibitions - but above all, he is the author of 59 books about the Slovene, Italian, the Balkans, African and Chinese natural and cultural heritage.
