Overview

As an Afro-American septuagenarian who has no access to power, no access to a treasure trove of Administration documents, I can only present my impressions, my feelings, and my perspective from what I read, listen to and see in the general media. My perspective is colored by an exceptional sense of pride for the first Afro-American President of these United States. I am biased by the oratorical poetry that has swayed me over the last several years; I am biased by the intellectual prowess and quick study of a man who has stepped into extraordinarily challenging circumstances and has performed admirably, be it local economic issues or global international stresses. Sure, I have read about the discord and lack of long term strategic thinking by the President's West Wing staff. I have also read about the tenacity and spousal support of Michelle Obama in defending 'her man'. I am clearly on the side of the First Lady who recognizes the breadth and depth of the President's passion to do right by the American people. Our President is a good man! If we do not recognize and reward him with a second term, history will document the loss that we will have suffered by not allowing Barack Hussein Obama to lead us boldly into the 21st century.

Author Information

Born in New Orleans almost seventy years ago, I received a Josephite high school education and a Jesuit college education, and am happily married, as well as the current proud father of seven, and even prouder grandfather of ten. After receiving a Harvard MBA and working in the information technology industry for over forty five years at such places as the California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Wall Street and Corporate America, I became immersed in politics with the election of the first black president of the United States, Barack Obama. The continuing journey I present to you in Volume II gives a perspective of the eighteen months after the passage of health care reform, a period that has been maligned by the opposition, with major attacks on Obamacare and professed by the polity as an abject failure. There will, of course, be ebbs and flows in the execution of his policies, in his national support. We are an impetuous people looking for quick fixes to very difficult, intractable issues confronting us today, issues that have been decades in the making due to failed policies of the opposition. The decibel level of the debate will be deafening with the opposition constantly making personal attacks because they don't have anything that makes political or policy sense. But the President will be persistent in articulating and executing policies that will get us to the socio-economic, geo-political Promise Land. This narrative and history will have the president prevail as he truly should -- a true Olympian.
