OverviewEvery son or daughter who enlists in the military has someone at home who loves and misses them. And while overseas deployments can bring danger and hardship for those who serve, they can also be terrifying for those left behind. Linda R. Beall had little idea what was in store for her when her son John enlisted in United States Marine Corp in June of 2001. Less than three months later, 9/11 occurred and the world was changed forever. Soon John would be in Iraq and Linda's life would become a nightmare as she prayed daily for her son's survival. Writing in her diary became Linda's coping mechanism and the diary entries contained in this book provided her with her only sense of solace during this difficult and frightening time. John served with distinction and thankfully survived the war. Linda survived as well, and in the process, she discovered a passion for writing that ultimately transformed her life. Diary of a Soldier's Mom is her story. Linda R. Beall grew up in Swedesboro, NJ, attended Salisbury State College, and now lives with her husband in St. Augustine, FL. Linda is the author of a series of children's books called Four PAWS. Prior to becoming a fulltime writer, she worked as a counselor for troubled adolescents, developmentally disabled people and the elderly. She was inspired to write Diary of a Soldier's Mom when her son John was deployed to Iraq. Publisher's website: http://sbpra.com/LindaRBeall Full Product DetailsAuthor: Linda R.
