From 1996 to 2000, she was on faculty of the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work, where she also served as co-director of the School’s mental health center. Dr. Corcoran’s practice and research interests lie in the areas of solution-focused therapy, evidence-based practice, and services to children and families. Joseph Walsh is a professor of social work at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he has been employed since 1993. He teaches courses in Direct Social Work Practice, Human Behavior, and Research. joe also teaches several elective courses on topics related to social work practice with persons who have serious mental illnesses, which is also his major area of scholarship.
