OverviewHistorically, there has always been an inseparable link between curriculum theory and curriculum design. The uniqueness of this book is that it builds upon the rich history of curriculum theory in physical education and provides the first systematic Achievement-Based Curriculum (ABC) model for translating curriculum theory into practice. The unique quality of the ABC approach is that it is a process that is independent of any particular curriculum theory or model. As such the ABC does not dictate what content should be included in the curriculum or how it should be taught. Rather, the ABC provides designers with a systematic decision making process that allows them to develop a physical education curriculum that addresses their unique needs and concerns.
