OverviewQuestions regarding jurisdiction and applicable law arise in German-Turkish succession cases even before the legal succession can be determined. More than one and a half million Turkish citizens living in Germany are evidence of considerable practical relevance and an increased need for professional counsel. This work answers these questions of international private and procedural law with regard to the various sources of law that come into consideration. The focus is on the current significance of the German-Turkish Succession Agreement in comparison to the European Regulation on Succession and the question of whether a narrow interpretation of this international treaty is necessary since the Regulation came into force.
