Overview

Dr. Watson is dead... Long live Dr. Watson! There's a new Dr. Watson working alongside Sherlock Holmes... And Dr. Jane Watson plans to do her late father and her godfather Sherlock proud. In partnership with Sherlock Holmes, Jane Watson has to solve murders and mysteries involving a choice between love and money, a European crime boss who is a master of disguise, and a ghost haunting. Then Jane is called upon by King and Country to lend her skills to solve a crime for a foreign power. It seems there's been a vampire murdered at Castle Dracula and King Vlad will accept no one less than the protege of Sherlock Holmes, the only man to have ever bested Dracula, to solve it. Despite Sherlock Holmes's misgivings, Jane Watson sets out on a Transylvanian airship. Along the way, she encounters Martian technology, a werewolf seeking asylum in Transylvania, a transformed Moriarty, the creature known as Adam Frankenstein, a council of vampires, and King Dracula himself. But will Jane be able to solve a crime that may have been committed by those whose powers rewrite the definition of impossible? And if she can't, what will Dracula do? Nobody ever said following in Sherlock Holmes's footsteps as a Detective of the Abyss would be simple. The game is afoot and the Abyss will never be the same!

"""It's best to think of this as a ""secret history"" of Frankenstein and his monster. It's done in the style of Mary Shelley's original work but tells you details you would not have known, and from a different viewpoint. It is also, basically, a story about a descent into madness...What is unique is it really delves into the viewpoint of the monster himself, who may be a reconstituted human but is human nonetheless. It also gives insight into Frankenstein's son, I don't wish to give too much away except to say that it may be the story you know...yet it is not. Very well written and true to the period, fans of Victorian Gothic will absolutely love this one."" -Wendy S. Delmater, Abyss & Apex"

Author Information

There's been a debate among certain obscure and drunken literary scholars about whether PATRICK THOMAS was raised by Cthulhu or a leprechaun in a Manhattan bar. What there is no arguing about is that Patrick is the award-winning author of 50+ books including the beloved fantasy humor Murphy's Lore series, the darkly hilarious Dear Cthulhu advice empire, as well as the Bikini Jones adventure books. Patrick pens the Hexcraft and Terrorbelle urban fantasy series, co-writes the Mystic Investigators paranormal mystery series, and is the creator of the Agents of the Abyss. Dear Cthulhu has expanded from magazines and books to broadcast monthly on the radio show Destinies: The Voice of Science Fiction. Over 100 of his stories have been published in magazines and anthologies. A number of his books were part of the props department of the CSI television show and Nightcaps was even thrown at a suspect's head. His urban fantasy Fairy With A Gun at one point had been optioned for film and TV by Laurence Fishburne's Cinema Gypsy Productions. Top Men Productions turned his Soul For Hire Story, Act of Contrition, into a short film. DPH Games is releasing a card game based on his 142nd Starborne military SF stories. As Patrick T. Fibbs, he writes middle readers including the Babe B. Bear Mysteries, The Undead Kid Diaries, Joy Reaper Checks Out, the YA Emotional Support Nightmare, and the Fushia The Mermaid and the Ughabooz picture books for younger kids.
