Dieter Krause studied mechanical engineering and received his doctorate in product development from the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. This was followed by leading positions as head of engineering design, technical director managing director in mechanical and plant engineering. Since 2005 he has been head of the Institute of Product Development and Mechanical Engineering Design at the TU Hamburg. He is board member of the Scientific Society for Product Development (WiGeP) and on the Advisory Board of the Design Society. Emil Heyden studied mechanical engineering at the TU Hamburg. Since 2018 he works in the field of dynamic analysis and design of lightweight structures at the Institute of Product Development and Mechanical Engineering Design at the TU Hamburg.
