OverviewExcerpt from Design and Operation of a Low-Pressure Absorption Plant The plant referred to was installed during the winter of 1916 - 17 in the Cushing oil field in Oklahoma. Far from a perfect result has been achieved in the plant; nevertheless a more or less detailed state ment of the main features of the plant and its operation will probably interest, and, it is hoped, aid those persons Operating or designing absorption plants to treat similar gases. The plant was designed and is operated as a low-pressure installation, the specification for the absorption tower calling for steel work to sustain a maximum pressure of 15 pounds per square inch. The gas used comes from approx imately 30 wells, drilled to the Bartlesville sand, and producing Oil and gas of good quality.
