Excerpt from Description des Manuscrits Fran ais du Moyen ge de la Biblioth que Royale de Copenhague La biblioth que setait tellement accrue que l'ancien local au ch teau de Copenhague ne lui suffisait plus. L'architecte du roi, maitre Albert, fut charg de soumettre au roi le plan d'un difice propre y tablir convenable ment la biblioth que royale. La construction de cet difice, o se trouve encore aujourd'hui la biblioth que, fut commenc e en 1667, mais ne se termina qu'en 1673, trois ans apr s la mort du roi. La cause de ce grand retard doit tre cherch e surtout dans la guerre destructrice et dispendieuse O fut engag le Danemark contre la Su de depuis 1658 jusqu'en 1660. Cependant la plus grande salle de la biblioth que, celle qui proprement avait t destin e renfermer la collection des livres, doit avoir t termin e du vivant du roi.
