El manejo efectivo de los recursos geneticos, la evaluacion y supervision de los riesgos pueden ayudar a promover la acuicultura responsable aumentando la produccion economica y el rendimiento y ayudando a minimizar los impactos negativos sobre el medioambiente. Los beneficios resultantes de la aplicacion responsable de los principios geneticos en la acuicultura deberian comunicarse a los consumidores, formuladotes de politica, cientificos y otros interesados en la pesca responsable y en la acuicultura.
