ANNA GEIS is Research Fellow at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt, Germany. She received her doctorate from the University of Hamburg and has published books and articles in the fields of democratic theory, state theory and theories of peace and war. LOTHAR BROCK teaches International Relations at the University of Frankfurt, Germany. He is a member of the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt, the International Review Board for the Research Programme North-South of the Swiss National Science Foundation and Head of the Advisory Board of the Protestant Churches in Germany on Sustainabl
