OverviewDe Profundis Out of the Depths tells the story about escaping my near death-like experiences aboard two different World War II submarines during the Cold War from 1959 to 1964. The first time, my sub was rammed, cut in half and sunk. The second time, we dove into an uncharted, fresh water, stream layer, and dropped three hundred and seventy-seven feet to the bottom of the sea. I was almost eaten by sharks twice! The first episode involved a thirty-five foot Great White Shark, who circled me for six hours moving under my feet and looking into my eyes. In the second episode, I was knocked overboard and on to the top of a sixteen-foot shark, as I scrambled hurriedly on to the top of a torpedo to get away. We spotted three Russian Nuclear submarines next to the Statue of Liberty, and sub ordered to ram the Nuclear sub, along with five other American submarines. On another occasion, I was trapped in the center compartment of my sub with the sea rushing in to a depth of twelve feet in just minutes. My blessings continued in the outside world, as I found a half million dollars in stocks, and was able to locate and return the money to the original owner. I am blessed to be married for fifty years to my best friend Linda, with seven children and nineteen grandchildren.
