He is widely regarded as the best and most influential writer in the history of comics and won a Hugo for Watchmen. His seminal works include From Hell, Lost Girls, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. He is also the author of the best-selling novel Jerusalem. Between 2011 and 2018, Moore has also created five short films and one feature-length film, The Show, with film director Mitch Jenkins. Alan Moore was born in Northampton and has lived there ever since. The love of science fiction helped the young Fruish overcome aspects of his dyslexia and learn to read fluently. He spent the last part of the 70s with his head stuck in a Doctor Who comic or a Terrance Dicks novelisation. These were the keys that eventually opened up the whole of literature for him.
