Overview

What do you do when you become widowed, leave your church family of 45 years, retire from your job and move halfway across the country? You get real with yourself. Emerging from a season of loss and the unraveling of every belief and certainty she had so carefully cultivated, Cathay began to sit in conversation with God. With God, not to God. Listening to the still, small voice of her spirit, their conversations went deep and released a well-spring of life and wisdom. These musings will leave you feeling inspired to reflect on your own life and to find answers to questions you didn't know to ask. They will leave you knowing that you are not alone.

Reviews

"""I like this book. Cathay is authentic in what she shares and every time someone is authentic, they're helping someone else overcome their fears and shame for having felt the same way. I also like the casualness of it . . . It's the way I talk with God."" -Jack Canfield, co-author of the bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul series and a pioneer in the field of Personal Development and Peak Performance ""Cathay is so thought-provoking while also being hopeful. This is what true self-awareness and enlightenment look like. Humanity is longing for inspiration like this."" -Katharyn O. Muniz, Chief Executive Officer, Orange County Conservation Corps ""I love this book! Cathay draws you into her world, conversing with the reader like you would an old friend. She gives the reader permission to question why you believe what you believe while bringing you into deeper understanding and leading you to do some soul-searching of your own."" -Kim Sorrelle, author of best-selling Love Is ""Dance in the Meadow gives readers a chance to ask the tough questions without the trite cliches or canned answers. It's refreshingly real. Down to earth. The writing is introspective. Contemplative. Thoughtful and unhurried. There's a tenderness here, a vulnerability and authenticity that radiates warmth like a sunny day after a long, dreary winter."" -Pages & Paws"

Author Information

Cathay Reta is on a mission to help people who struggle to find or recover their passion, to know their purpose and to live fully. It's something she knows about because life shook her foundation enough that she started to question everything she had believed. Listening to her inner voice, she took a walk - a long walk - on the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), a 483-mile pilgrimage trail across northern Spain. Traveling alone, at the age of sixty-four after her husband's death left her widowed, she got to know herself again, and to fall in love with that self she rediscovered. On the Camino she also found the courage to pursue her dream of being an author and speaker.Cathay has a diverse background with a B.A. in music, a lifetime of co-ministry with her late husband David, and a forty-year career in adult literacy developing and conducting training for local, statewide (California) and national organizations, most often with public libraries. Her greatest passion is turning life's experiences and observations into relatable lessons for others. Her mantra is YOU can do anything. YOU are unstoppable. YOU are amazing! Now live it!
