Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationRosalam Hj Sarbatly is a Professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). He is widely recognized for his expertise in membrane and nanofiber technologies for water purification, wastewater treatment, and sustainable environmental systems. In 2024, he founded the Nanomaterials Research Centre at UMS, establishing a national platform for advanced research in functional nanomaterials and green membrane innovation. He holds a Ph.D. in Membrane Technology from the University of Bath, UK, and is a registered Professional Engineer. Prof. Rosalam has received numerous accolades, including the Top Research Scientist of Malaysia Award (2020), IChemE Sustainability Award (2021), Sabah Scientist Award (2023), and Tun Chancellor Award of UMS (2023). He has authored several academic and science books and was key to UMS’s designation as a Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HiCoE) in Marine Aquaculture. Sheikh Mohd Iqbal Bin S. Zainal is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, specializing in fiber-reinforced concrete with a focus on enhancing the mechanical performance of cement-based composites. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham and the University of Portsmouth, as well as a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is currently a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia and the Malaysian Structural Steel Association. Over the years, Dr. S.M. Iqbal S. Zainal has achieved notable professional milestones. In 2024, he was invited to serve as a judge for the Innovators For Tomorrow Competition and as a jury member for the Skills Through Design Competition, both organized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. In 2025, he was honored with the Exceptional Reviewer Award from MDPI Materials and was named one of the Top 3 High-Indexed Article Contributors by Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Dr. S.M. Iqbal S. Zainal was also appointed as the Officer in Charge for the Malaysian National Nanotechnology Laboratory Network Portal (RMNK), under the National Nanotechnology Centre.
