He holds a Master's and PhD in Educational and Applied Linguistics from Newcastle University, UK. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language Teaching at Istanbul Medeniyet University, Turkey, and has worked on projects such as the Newcastle University Corpus of Academic Spoken English (NUCASE). He has published on English as a second language, Conversation Analysis for second language acquisition and second language teacher training, and the internationalization of higher education. Hakki Bagci received his BA in Computer and Education Technology from Anadolu University and holds an MA from Anadolu University, Turkey.
