Amy Loftsgordon is a legal editor and writer at Nolo, focusing on foreclosure, debt management, consumer protection, and personal finance. She edits a number of Nolo books and is the coauthor of The Foreclosure Survival Guide, Solve Your Money Troubles, and Credit Repair. Before joining Nolo, Amy worked in foreclosure and debt collections for many years. She has drafted foreclosure-related training and loan servicing procedures, written manuals for collection operations, and audited completed foreclosures for compliance with applicable laws. Amy was also instrumental in preparing expert reports used in lawsuits against banks and servicers accused of mishandling collection, preforeclosure, loss mitigation, foreclosure, and REO processes. She received a B.A. from the University of Southern California and a law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Colorado. Cara O'Neill is a legal editor and writer at Nolo specializing in bankruptcy and small claims litigation.
