Prior to his return to documentary photography full-time, he worked in the world of advertising for seventeen years as the director of print production for an award-winning ad agency. He has worked in, or traveled to, forty-two countries to date. This is his second photo book. His first book, Striking Poses: Creating a Visual Dialogue, is an exploration of the interactive relationships among photographer, subject, and viewer. He has a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MFA from San Francisco State University. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and England.
