OverviewThe coronavirus in its many variations rampaged across the world after escaping the lab in China in 2019. Mutating faster than the vaccines could be manufactured, pharmaceutical companies made them available as rapidly as they could to the world. People were dying by the hundreds of thousands across the globe, so the vaccines, based on the original, were rushed to the public by their governments without the exhaustive testing that they would normally go through to save their populations. Even so, the last strain of the virus, the ""Congo"" variation, rampaged through the populations of the world, killing over ⅓ of the 8.7 billion humans on the face of the earth before it was contained. Large population centers were abandoned, and extreme measures were taken to continue essential services. Political boundaries dissolved as countries banded together, attempting to save as many of their people as possible. This is the story of one family unit that managed to survive relatively intact, the Marshal family. In particular, it is the story of one of the Marshals, Rob, as he was known.
