Overview

A 3 Act Play that takes a snapshot at the following: Scipio Africanus defeated Hannibal in the Battle of Zama and ended the Second Punic War, which left the Roman Republic the dominant power of the ancient Mediterranean world. Tiberius and Gaius Gracchus, Scipio's grandsons, known as The Gracchi, found the Republic rich and all powerful, but could not stop the corruption of power. Cornelia, Scipio's daughter and the mother of The Gracchi, was the most admired woman in the history of Rome. She watched it all in anguish as the soul of the Republic died. Cornelia saw that wealth and power are the deadliest poison.
