Overview

This is her last chance before winter comes, and she won't allow man or nature to rob her of what she's worked so hard to claim. Alena Sommer is a woman of unflinching resolution, but when she arrives in Idaho Territory's Sawtooth City, she learns that not only is the town dying but so has the man she was to marry. In spite of the looming hardships of winter and uncertainty for the town's future, Lena resolves to claim a hearth of her own. The one man discouraging her decision to face the coming winter is the very one who will give her the strength to stay. Surviving winter's threat will take more than courage, something more neither expected.
