Overview

Amy Hoskins has been writing poetry since the fourth grade, and began to see her poems published in her senior year of high school in 1982. This is the first collection of poetry to be curated by Hoskins for the years 1985-2019. Volume II:: Relationships, Healing, and Society. Amy has experiences all across the board from from hope and idealism, to loss and betrayal, grief and a sense of moral discovery throughout. See also Volume I:: Nature and Fantasy Amy is an avid gardener and loves Nature, since she was a little girl. Her Nature poems are innocent and full of awe. The Fantasy poetry includes an enormous found word poem or two, and a lot of wordplay, as Amy explores the boundaries of poetry and the world. Amy Hoskins is a poet and visual artist creating with disabilities from her home in South Nashville, TN. In 2017-18, with two additional poets, Amy conducted a Spoken Word Immersion Program funding by Nashville Metropolitan Arts Commission, every other Monday at Harvest Hands Development Corporation during the school year. Harvest Hands is an after school program in her neighborhood. She helped local nonprofit Conexion Americas create a community guide and map for the Nolensville Pike community, the most diverse 10 miles in Nashville. Amy also hosted an all languages poetry open mic in 2017 with Conexion Americas, from April through June. The all languages welcome open mic moved to Flatrock Coffee, Tea, and More, which is also located on Nolensville Pike. Now post-pandemic, Amy's open mic is called Gestalt Poetry Open Mic, and is held online on the fourth Saturday of each month. Amy has had over 20 poems published in the US, and one in Amsterdam. www.amyhoskins.com
