Overview

Traveling in 42 states and a few countries, I've seen my share of places I would call paradise. I was fascinated by the ocean after spending the entire summer in Maui, Hawaii and loved it ever since. Whether walking miles down a beach, snorkeling, or scuba diving, the ocean has been my paradise. However, even in paradise, bad things can still happen. Throughout this book, you'll hear about my travels and the unbelievable number of close calls I've had throughout my life. Some happened in the ocean and a variety of other locations. They include encounters with sharks, an alligator, a barracuda, a school of jellyfish, and a stone fish. Additional close calls with lightning, a chainsaw, a tornado, auto accidents, being shot with an arrow, outrunning muggers in the city, a kayak sinking in the bay, and falling 150 feet off a cliff in California. Join me on this incredible journey of close calls, adventure, survival, experiencing God's protection, and preparing for eternity.

Greg Freshour is certified in scuba diving, an avid snorkeler, a travel advisor, an amateur photographer, a public speaker, an author, Virginia's Department of Transportation Commissioner's Award recipient, and a University of Michigan football fan. When not heading to the beach, he's a certified human resources professional, working in human resources for over 25 years. He has earned both bachelor's and master's degrees. He's a husband, father, grandfather, and a follower of Jesus Christ. He currently resides in Virginia with his wife, has two daughters (two sons-in-law), and two wonderful grandchildren.
