Clobetasol propionate is a drug which is used to treat itching, rashes or swelling in the skin which occurs as a result of some skin infections or diseases. It is belongs to a generics known as corticosteroids and drugs under this group perform almost the same functions. Clobetasol is available in several forms like gels, ointments, spray and foam and they are used on different occasions and is prescribed to different people depending on how severe the infection is. It is basically a topical drug, which means that is is applied on the skin alone. It is not advisable to use this drug on the skin in areas where there are already very severe skin infections such burns, sores, boils or serious wounds as it is not safe and could result in some other very severe side effects.
