Clipped Wings was written by the son of a coal miner whose childhood was spent in the most rural camps of West Virginia. Neither poverty, coal dust, nor the depression could keep this young Irish lad from wanting a better life and the prettiest girl in town. This book is filled with adventures starting from the coal mines, to a career in the Army Airforce, to working with the first computer systems, all shared with his beautiful and beloved hometown girl. However, as adventurous as their lives were while enduring all the riches our world could offer, it wasn't until in their later years did they truly find what a better life meant. To know the author one would know what this better life is truly comprised of. Kenton C. Murphy, aka Papa, Pat, Murph, amongst other names, is one of the most delightful men one could ever hope to meet. I have known Mr. Murphy for almost twenty years and everyone that has met or grown to know him, from West Virginia, to Northern Virginia, to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, ALL echo my sentiments. He has been an inspiration, mentor, and true friend to many, many people over the years. He is loved and admired so much, that publishing this book will not only appeal to friends and family, but anyone wanting to meet a man that defines what character and honesty truly means, while having a great reading experience to boot.
