OverviewNon-isotopic in situ hybridization (NISH) methods are increasingly employed to analyze unique chromosomal abnormalities and gene rearrangements, and for physical mapping of DNA sequences on chromosomes. The techniques are also useful tools for prenatal diagnosis of major chromosomal disorders.
