OverviewThis is the third book in a series of children's books that examine different types of vision conditions prevalent among Kenyans. Church Bells Ringing chronicles a day in the life of a family whose baby is born blind. The baby enjoys a trip to church with his family where he is attentive to the sounds and smells surrounding him. The baby receives his most important sensory information from those close to him-- their smell as they come close to him, their voice as they speak and sing to him, their touch when they hold him against their body. Sometimes a baby who is blind will suddenly become very quiet which may mean he is interested in what he hears. He could also get cranky which could mean there is too much noise for him to process. A parent learns to interpret a baby's cues. Reaching out for toys or people allows a baby to make contact with others. We hope you enjoy reading about little Robert and his family. There are many games the family plays, which teach Robert about the world that surrounds him.
