Jacqueline Kimball was born in Wisner, Louisiana, and grew up in Ferriday, Louisiana. She received her degree in elementary education from Northeast Louisiana University (now named University of Louisiana at Monroe), graduating magna cum laude. In 2006, she was honored Teacher of the Year at her school, and credited her students, saying that they simply made her look good . She retired from teaching in 2010, and though she misses her time in the classroom, she is happy to finally have time to pursue her passion for writing. Jacqueline loves history, and is particularly drawn to the mid 1800s. She enjoys writing historical fiction, and admits that she finds research for her books as much fun as writing them. She also writes children's stories, including the book Houston the Cleft Palate Puppy, her personal favorite. Additionally, she has written for church publications, Hub Pages, Infobarrel, MSNBC, and various publications around the internet. She currently lives in Louisiana, USA .She is a mother of three grown children, and shares her home with her oldest daughter and two spoiled dogs.
