Author Information

Robert L. Hendren, DO, is Professor of Psychiatry, Executive Director, M.I.N.D. Institute, (Medical Investigation of Neurodevelopmental Disorders), Chief, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, at the University of California, Davis. His primary areas of research and publication interests are translational clinical pharmacology and nutritional trials using biomarkers in neurodevelopmental disorders such as Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders, and impulse control disorders. He has over 100 publications on topics in his field, including books, book chapters, journal articles, and papers. He takes an active leadership role in various local, state, and national organizations and committees and frequently speaks at national and international conferences and symposiums. Hong Shen, MD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, Davis. As a community-based academic child & adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Shen provides mental health services in a variety of settings. He is actively involved in child and adolescent psychiatry resident training, medical student education, and clinical trial research at the UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute. Dr. Shen is actively involved in American Psychiatric Association and has a special interest in cross-cultural psychiatry.
