OverviewChauncey Creek Road is about two miles long. Where it crosses a small causeway to Cutt's Island, its name changes to Seapoint Road, which runs a mile to Seapoint Beach on the open Atlantic Ocean. Houses line both sides of Chauncey Creek Road itself, but less densely on the water-side of the street, where many homes are close to the creek's edge. Most homes on the opposite side of the road, like ours, are situated on a slope that is 15-20 feet above the road. The houses are a mix of Capes, Farmhouse Victorians, and Colonials. This book is partly about the people in those houses -- our neighbors, friends, and acquaintances on Chauncey Creek Road. It's also a collection of local history, and some contemporary events and remembrances that have occurred during our near 50 years in Kittery Point.
