Overview

In this time of universal loss, hear from one who has survived. Hoover is an emerging voice that you will want to hear. In the personal, private questioning, we are often without words or a way forward. voiced Hoover Changing Tides gives words to those who live through disorienting, unimaginable loss. In this vulnerable, yet powerfully hopeful collection of freestyle poetry and ocean photography, Hoover brings you on her journey to process and make room for the death of her son Kody. By comparing and contrasting her experience, with the natural rhythms of the ocean, she finds faith that helps her to survive the unthinkable and find joy. I pray that Changing Tides will let others know they are not alone and help them find their way. Hoover shared. A revealing look into grief for those who walk along side of the bereaved and victims of trauma.

Reviews

Changing Tides is an inspirational testament through poetry- how your faith in yourself, your faith in something bigger and more powerful than you, and the choice to grieve and to live brought healing to the darkest of days, to your shattered heart. I cherish your words and your journey for they inspire me in the work I do. I look forward to the book version, the photos are perfect! Stacia Sickle MSW, LCSW Director of Grief and Bereavement Program Livingston Memorial Hospice Katy has given me, what I believe to be, enormous insight into the journey of grief, psychologically and spiritually. Her vulnerable and transparent stories invite us to bring our own woundedness into the light. The beauty of her poetry settles deep into the recesses of the heart and is a resource I will gladly read again and again as well as recommend often - not only to those who are trudging through the loss of a loved one, but to those who also walk beside them. Connie Welik Retired Minister of Care and Recovery Encounter Church As a society we tend to put limits on the grieving process. Katy reminds and reassures me that grief comes in waves. It goes in and out like the tides and it is ok to be where I am right now. It is real, it is all important and it will change. One' Some people think of grief as a 5 step process. Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Acceptance. The truth is, it's a little bit of everything and a lot of in between . This collection feeds into the raw and unexpected places of grief that leave you in the in between of who you were and who you will be. Kelsi Relevant, for a time like this Breathtaking Ocean images amplify the internal tides of emotion and perspective. Shock, heartbreak, laughter and treasure.... it is all here.
