OverviewThe viability of the online press refers to its ability to endure and thrive in an ever-changing digital environment. Indeed, the online press faces many challenges, but it also presents unique opportunities that can guarantee its long-term success. Our research focuses on the viability of the online press in a competitive and regulated environment in Benin. This problematic is fully rooted in the socio-economics of online press enterprises and aims to contribute to the existence of the Beninese online press and to the development of the logic of information practices and information consumption on the Internet. Specifically, it addresses the issue of the economic viability of the online press in a competitive and regulated environment in Benin. Beyond the classic economic model, this work focuses on the viability of online journalism in Benin and its reach to audiences in order to practice quality journalism.
