Overview

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using gold celebrating imperfection. Cancer Kintsugi is about repairing and reconnecting body, mind and spirit and healing beautifully and powerfully, embracing imperfection. There are many simple and natural ways to begin your healing journey. These include reducing stress, letting go of fear, boosting your immune system, improving your microbiome, exercise, nutrition, supplements, releasing suppressed emotions and increasing positive emotions. This book includes testimonies of people who have healed their cancer using natural, holistic approaches. Most importantly you can increase your happiness and hope as well as your health! Two months before Sally passed away, we visited her family in Hepburn, Victoria. Her step-sister Bridget is a potter. She had arranged for us to have a bit of fun throwing and decorating pots. We were grateful for the opportunity to spend the day with her family and had a wonderful time. Sometime later, after the firing, it was discovered that one of Sally's pots had a significant crack.I had read about Kintsugi and planned to repair it. Sometime after her death, it occurred to me that healing from cancer is a similar process to kintsugi; hence the 'cancer kintsugi' concept of repairing and reconnecting body, mind and spirit and healing beautifully and powerfully, embracing imperfection. Even though Sally wasn't able to heal in time, I know she would wish others all the best. This book is dedicated to her.

Healing and living your best life with cancer is not only possible but achievable thanks to the author's essential insights for newly diagnosed cancer patients. This wonderful guide book clearly gives cancer patients a fantastic roadmap towards wellness from a holistic perspective. I wish I had such an empowering resource when I was diagnosed myself. I hope this book will be found in the office of every Integrative practitioner, GP and Oncologist. Justine Laidlaw - The Natural Bird Colon Cancer Survivor, Integrative & Functional Medicine Cancer Coach I have always been intrigued by the practice of Kintsugi-where something broken is made whole and even more beautiful. Many facing cancer, myself included, have experienced this first hand. Paul blesses us by baring his cracks of grief and loss by filling them with the gold of personal experience and global collaboration to tell a story of hope and healing. This concise, scientifically informed, and thoughtfully presented guide is a gift to us all. Dr Nasha Winters Author: The Metabolic Approach to Cancer Winston Churchill said 'Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened'. Paul McKenna was actually propelled into the reality of cancer through his partner's illness. Rather than 'hurrying off', Paul has honed the many truths they learnt into this well-crafted book. As a cancer survivor myself, and one who has spent time with many others working on transforming the disease, I highly recommend Cancer Kintsugi. Dr Ian Gawler OAM Books include: You Can Conquer Cancer and Blue Sky Mind In the cancer journey we can feel alone and broken. Having a roadmap to find ourselves and put ourselves back together (maybe better than before) is a great gift. This book is such a gift. Use it to find yourself, heal, live, love, and connect. Di x Di Foster Mentor, Speaker & Storyteller Being confronted with a serious, life-threatening diagnosis such as cancer is a huge shock that everyone experiences in a very different, traumatic way. There is one thing that most people have in common, though: Resorting to the internet in a desperate attempt to learn more, find ways of dealing with the diagnosis and, hopefully, a plan to not only survive but also thrive for as long as possible after treatment. Unfortunately, online investigations usually result in feelings of overwhelm, panic and even despair. Having a resource such as Paul McKenna's Cancer Kintsugi is a much more effective, gentle and supportive way of obtaining an evidence-based, realistic and actionable roadmap that covers the basic healing principles. The survival stories and additional resources provide additional inspiration and hope, which is another important cornerstone of every cancer journey. Thank you for creating this beautifully illustrated book, Paul! Patricia Daly Nutritional Therapist (dipNT, mBANT, rCNHC), Ocular Melanoma (stage 3c) survivor Author: The Ketogenic Kitchen (co-written with Domini Kemp) When you are diagnosed with cancer, your whole world is shattered - physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Finding your healing pathway can be daunting, confusing and overwhelming. Cancer Kintsugi by Paul Mckenna is a wonderful foundation to connect the pieces back together again - rebuilding a new life filled with gratitude and love - the gold that holds everything together.
