Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationMary Allodi is the author of the first two volumes of Canadian Watercolours in the Royal Ontario Museum. She is curator emeritus of Early Canadian Paintings & Prints at ROM. One of the country's senior art historians and a pioneer and pillar in the study of early Canadian art, she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts and in 1999 was invested into the Order of Canada. Arlene Gehmacher is the L.R. Wilson Curator of Canadian Art & Culture at ROM. An art historian specializing in imagery of Canada from the 18th century to the present, primarily in the visual idioms of Western European art, Arlene studies ""Canada"" as a subject in its social context, in terms of production, critical reception, institutional histories, and display strategies, as a means to address how identities and historical narratives from national to personal levels are articulated and communicated.
