Born in New York City, he lives and works in Wiesbaden, Germany, with his wife, Étel Rauhof-Fisher. Fisher has published several books and many articles on a wide variety of topics ranging from history and politics to software development and labor relations. His community service activities focus on the promotion of the European-American Partnership through the organization of internships in Europe for Princeton undergraduates.
