Author Information

"hand and spent endless hours on the business end of hoes and shovels. The experience encouraged him to do something else with his life. He spent his nights reading novels and teaching himself to play guitar. Stories such as Moby Dick, The Grapes of Wrath, The Old Man and the Sea, and many others gave him an early appreciation of literature and a desire to one day become an author. In his first novel, ""Cactizonians' Treasure,"" he takes readers on a vivid journey through the Sonoran desert of Arizona and Mexico in a fascinating twist on a lost treasure legend. After graduating from Arizona State University, Bart worked as a natural resource conservationist. His work took him all over the western U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii, and to Guam and other islands in the Pacific basin. He developed a special appreciation for the land, history, and cultures of the west. Along the way Bart performed professionally as a guitarist with several groups in Arizona and California. His interest in songwriting led him to Nashville after retiring from his career as a conservationist. He spent many years in ""Music City"" writing songs and teaching guitar for songwriters. He has published a memoir titled ""Guitar Journey: A Musician's Memoir"" and a handbook for guitarists titled ""How To Travel Safely With Your Guitar."" To hear some of Bart's songs check out the music tab on this website. Bart and his wife live in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains near Tucson, Arizona. His hobbies include writing haiku, travel, and the pursuit of the perfect chili relleno."
