OverviewThis book is a true-to-life genre based on four journals of my late father who was born to a poor mining family in a small village called Ebbw Vale, South Wales, during the Depression of the early 1900s. His family moved to the Midlands in search of bett er employment opportunities when the Second World War broke out. After a short time as a police special constable during the blitz, he enlisted in the Corp of Royal Engineers and was sent to Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944, at a place called Arromanches. The batt le for the port of Antwerp was his last European batt lefront from Normandy. He was then posted across to fi ght the war against the Japanese to India. After the Japanese surrender, our protagonist decided to opt for a life of high adventure by applying his diving skills as a mercenary of the high seas in the South Pacifi c. This he achieved by purchasing from the UK Ministry of Defence Singapore, two ex-Royal Navy Motor Torpedo Boats with his business partner Roy, a former Japanese Prisoner of War British serviceman. Rex lived his life with a passion for danger and highrisk adventure. A true itinerant soldier of fortune with honour and integrity.
