Charles L. Atherton has 50 years experience serving the world's financial markets through advertising, press and investor relations; culminating an acclaimed career as an educator. A career launched in the City of London, he was at the center of the issues and mergers market working with and alongside the City's leading merchant (investment) banks producing the shareholder communication documents as well as some 400 annual reports. Relocating to Paris in 1981 he created a financial advertising agency matching initially the capital markets needs of the French and international banks and developing image and financial product advertising. Investor relations became a specialty and he was elected to America's National Investor Relations Institute in 1986. He currently advises many Nordic companies on reaching their French investors. Answering a request from a colleague, related to a Business English as a Second Language program, he found himself developing and then launching a third career enabling him to share his working knowledge, experience and skills with senior French managers, as well as senior and masters students at the renowned Leonard de Vinci University in Paris's La Defense business district.
